- Reports—How to Generate
-
- After you select a report, you are presented with the selection criteria dialog.
-
- The dialog is separated into three sections. The top and middle sections contain
-
- criteria specific to the selected report. Some reports have a great deal of
-
- selection criteria—date range, level, rounding, etc. Most have just two or three
-
- selections. A couple have no selections in the top and middle sections.
-
-
-
- The bottom section is the same for every report. It contains:
-
-
-
- ÀáInclude Company NameÀá
-
- Check this and your company name and address (from Company Information in
-
- Set Up M.Y.O.B.) is printed at the top of the first page. The company name
-
- (without the address) is printed at the top of every succeeding page.
-
-
-
- ÀáInclude Report DateÀá
-
- Check this selection to have the current date printed at the top left of every page.
-
-
-
- ÀáScreenÀá
-
- M.Y.O.B. displays the selected report on the screen similar to the way it will appear
-
- on your printer.
-
-
-
- ÀáNote:Àá Your Page Setup selections affect the screen display. If, for
-
- example, you have landscape (sideways) orientation selected in Page Setup, your reports
-
- screen display is approximately 11 inches wide. If your Page Setup orientation is
-
- portrait, the display is approximately 8 inches wide. Use the horizontal scroll bar to
-
- view the right side of the report.
-
-
-
- Unlike the Printer option, you are not warned if the selected report does not fit
-
- in the screen display.
-
-
-
- ÀáNote:Àá M.Y.O.B. has a single screen report window. If you generate two screen
-
- reports, the second report will replace the first report.
-
-
-
- ÀáPrinterÀá
-
- Choose Printer to send the selected report to your printer. All M.Y.O.B. reports
-
- are designed to fit in portrait mode on a continuous-feed printer. If the
-
- selected report will not fit, you are alerted. To make the report fit, you must
-
- either change your Page Setup or customize the report. See the next section
-
- for customization instructions.
-
-
-
- ÀáNote:Àá If you have a LaserWriter, choose Page Setup and reduce
-
- the output by 86%. This makes your LaserWriter output the same dimensions as an
-
- ImageWriter’s output.
-
-
-
- ÀáDisk (Tabs)Àá
-
- Select Disk (Tabs) to save the report to a disk file in tab-delimited format. Tab
-
- delimited format means that M.Y.O.B. puts tabs between the fields of the report.
-
- Tab-delimited text files can be imported into most spreadsheets, database
-
- programs, and word processors.
-
-
-
- Use the standard file dialog to choose where to save the report.
-
-
-
- ÀáDisk (Text)Àá
-
- Select Disk (Text) to save the report to a disk file in text format. Text format
-
- means that M.Y.O.B. puts spaces between the fields. Text files can be imported by
-
- most word processors.
-
-
-
- Use the standard file dialog to choose where to save the report.
-
-
-
- ˇNote:ˇ With text files, there’s a good chance that the columns of a report, once
-
- moved to your word processor, will not be properly aligned. If this happens,
-
- try using a fixed-width font like Courier or Monaco, or try saving the report in
-
- tab-delimited format.
